Before I did this project, I made some simple console applications in C++. I wanted to get a solid understanding of the language because virtually all books and most online resources on game programming, use C++. So I decided to make this simple puzzle game with SFML to further develop my knowledge of c++.
Pathfinding algorithms are very important in games. I thought it would be a fun challenge to implement the a* algorithm in c++ and SFML. It turned out to be a really useful project because it taught me how to solve problems using existing algorithms. The project also helped me a great deal with understanding C++.
